Behold The God TV

He Said “Come And See,” And I Sawtv22

As some of you may know I have been without cable tv for about 10 years. I never gave much thought to it, so I didn’t really miss it. Recently my mother-in-law became a dealer for Direct TV and she decided to hook me up with a delux package at no cost to me. I’ve never known the glory of DVR; it is truly amazing. I can watch anything whenever I get around to watching it which works well with my dislike of schedules. More importantly, it allows me to skip commericals. I have a very deep-seeded hatred of commericals–they are the reason I shunned TV in the first place. I know I’m a few years behind here, but I just felt the need to share my excitement with the group. Also, Food Network is the best thing ever. EVER I tell you. Now that I have the glorious Direct TV I need to know what shows I need to be watching. Does anybody have any suggestions?

100 Movie Quotes in 200 Seconds

Think of all the time you just saved. Some of those movies were only good for one famous line and now you have seen it. I think they left out a few though.

Least Appropriate Wedding Tunes

Sometimes Fat Bottomed Girls won’t make your rockin’ world go round

257254_f520Wedding season is upon us.  Recently squeer! Chelsea – PETA Protector tied the knot, and soon one of Thundersquee!’s own, hag extraordinaire Cait will be following suit, so it felt like time for another wedding themed post. NPR recently did a list of their picks for the least appropriate wedding songs, and while they didn’t get it wrong, they could have done better, and their list was all too brief.  Here’s a quick recap of NPR’s choices:

  • Send in the Clowns – Judy Collins
  • You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ – The Righteous Brothers
  • Just a Gigolo – Louis Prima
  • The Lady is a Tramp – Frank Sinatra
  • La donna e mobile from Rigoletto – Verdi Translation: “Anyone who trusts her is always wretched; he who opens his heart to her is lacking in caution.”

They’re all sound choices, but we think you can do much better.  Here are a few additions to get you started.

  • Another One Bites the Dust – Queen
  • 99 Problems – Ice-T (or Jay-Z)
  • D-I-V-O-R-C-E – Tammy Wynette
  • The Thrill is Gone – B.B. King
  • Gold Digger – Kanye West
  • Suspicious Minds – Elvis Presley

New Sherlock Holmes movie trailer

Robert Downey, Jr. for the block and the win

When I first read that Robert Downey, Jr. would be playing Sherlock Holmes, I was excited. I’ve been a huge fan of his going back to the 1980s. Then I read that Guy Ritchie was going to be the director, and I was less than thrilled. For me, Guy Ritchie is hit and miss with his films–mostly miss. I thought Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels were highly overrated. Then a few months back, I saw RocknRolla, and my faith in him doing a good job with Sherlock Holmes was restored.

So I’m keeping my fingers crossed and thinking happy thoughts that he makes this a great movie. What do you think, are you ready for Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law as Holmes and Watson?

No Special Day for Miss California

The world rejoicests-carrie-prejean1

San Diego Vista Unified School District considered making June 1st Carrie Prejean Day. Thankfully, the school board decided against it. School Board Vice President, Steve Lily had this to say:

“The district had never honored a former student and didn’t want to start with someone who had breast implants, posed semi-nude and whose goal was to be a Victoria’s Secret model.”

I could sum up my feeling on this in two simple words:

Food for Thought

Armageddon Edition

earth_explodeI love hypothetical questions. There’s nothing better than hearing what people would do if they were put in certain situations or given certain opportunities. I find these kind of questions always lead to the most entertaining and enlightening conversations. With that being said, I now ask you:

The world is ending tomorrow. What would you do?

What Do You Think?

Bitch, please

I have beef with Nicole Kidman. Her goddamn face won’t move because it’s all Botoxed to high heaven.  Homegirl is 41… she should have wrinkles.  And she has none.  And that shit just ain’t right.  Plus she’s done some crazy shit with her lips.  Stop it, Nikki!

She used to be such a beautiful woman.  Remember when she looked like this?

and this?
