  3. YAY! Rigby!

So many things to comment on:

    1. I’m so glad my screen name continues to amuse you! 🙂

    2. It isn’t a meadow, it is my front yard which only goes to show that I don’t mow my lawn nearly often enough! Rigby did think it was paradise though.

    3. I did know they are lactose intolerant, I was a good hedgie mom and did my research. He doesn’t really like human treats anyway. He does like catnip, grass, seed helicopters, turtle food (he found a couple stray turtle pellets on my floor) and Chicken flavored Hedgie O’s.

    3. There are some states where you can’t have them as pets, I know that you can’t in California and Hawaii for sure. Before you offer up your Siberian Husky you should know that, while very cute, my hedgie has quite the attitude and can poop way more than anything of its size should be able to!

  4. Hedgie O’s is my new favorite pet treat name.

  5. RIGBY! Shut up. If I ever give birth to some kind of half god half baby, I shall name him Rigby.

Your hedgehog looks like no ordinary hog. He’s precious!!

  6. I thought Hedgie O’s was really cute too! When I bought his food they sent me free samples and he gave the chicken ones two very enthusiastic paws up. He doesn’t like the sweet potato ones. A hog after my own heart!

Why thank you baby fish mouth! Eleanor Rigby is my favorite Beatles song so that is why I named him that. 🙂

  8. I love him! Pennsylvania is another state you can’t have them in. I had a hedgehog named Philip (R.I.P.) and he was perfect.

  10. How long do they live?
Do they get along with chickens?
    Is there a hedgie-Os.com?

I’m making plans. Oh yes, I’m making plans.

  11. They live around 3 to 6 years. Some longer. I don’t know if they get along with chickens. They are a very nervous animal but mine seems to tolerate my cats well. I put him in a kiddie pool for “tube time” (he will literally spend hours shoving his head in a toilet paper tube). There isn’t a Hedgie-O’s.com (unfortunately!) but they are sold through Pet-Pro Products. My breeder is Millermeade Farms and she really hooked me up with all the best things for my fella. Like a leopard print hedgie sleeping bag.

  12. I think that Sonic is a hedgehog. My kids love that game. I’m sure the little one will be sad they aren’t blue. Can they at least roll up into little balls and bounce off the walls? Don’t kill my 4 year olds dreams.

  13. They do roll into tight little balls. They can bounce when they are in that ball when they are really agitated. The other day Rigby escaped during tube time and I had to roll him out from underneath the bed with a yard stick. He was less than thrilled. They make this sound called “huffing” and he was seriously giving me the business.

  14. I think that needs to be on you tube. Aidan will be happy hear that even if they aren’t blue they can still roll like a ball.

  15. I don’t have video of any balled-up action but I’ve got a video of tube time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SbCbwpEFwc.
