May You Rest in Peace, Natasha

ts-natasha-richardsonActress Natasha Richardson, wife of actor Liam Neeson, daughter of Oscar winners Vanessa Redgrave and Tony Richardson, and sister to Nip/Tuck‘s Joely Richardson, succumbed to injuries suffered during a tragic ski accident.  She was 45.

Her family released the following statement:

Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha. They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.

Rest in peace, Natasha.

Thundersquee! hopes the media and blogosphere can dig deep and treat the situation with the class and solemnity that such a tragedy warrants.

  1. It’s always a sad shock when someone you respect passes away… or even just someone who was a familiar face. I wish their family the best.

  3. It’s terribly sad, as it is, I think, whenever someone dies too young–especially when they have children. Her family has my deepest sympathies.

  4. This is so tragic. I can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said, but my heart goes out.

Also, to all the people who commented on the ‘lovely’ way Jossip reported this story: I totally agree with you, but I already flipped my lid over there once and promised not to go back…and then I went back…but I don’t want to give them the satisfaction, you know? So, I’m telling you here, drew was awful.

  5. This is so sad. I was truly shocked to learn that Natasha had passed on. I was justreading an article in my newspaper about her ski accident. She seemed very nice and sweet from the interviews I had seen her in in the past. What a tragedy for her family.

  7. Oh and I just read Jossip’s “report” and wow that was quite distasteful. It tasted worse than cold brussel sprouts. And just another example of why I don’t visit that site anymore…well unless it is mentioned in something like this.

  8. I went to jossip for the first time since about a week after the death of MG, specifically to see what you guys were talking about. All it did was reconfirm why I don’t even give those bastards any contribution to my carpal tunnel problems.
